Singapore’s ruling party PAP Minister Edwin Tong has openly engaged in vote buying in his PAP election campaign leaflet.
PAP Minister Edwin Tong, who represented City Harvest Church Kong Hee, said he will give S$500 to eligible residents living in his contesting constituency Joo Chiat.
The offer is valid only during this election.
This is the third time a PAP candidate breached election laws. Earlier in the week, Education Minister Ong Ye Kung published a campaign video featuring a young boy to praise the PAP.
The Singapore Elections Department did not take action on any of the these election law breaches.
