The 2020 General Election will see only one three-corner fight at Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, with the two opposition parties being SDA and People’s Voice Party.
SDA is led by a notorious opposition spoiler, Desmond Lim, who lost the GRC three previous times. Known as a PAP mole, Desmond Lim was missing from the constituency most of the time and appears only during elections to stop other opposition from contesting the PAP.
The credible opposition alternative is People’s Voice Party (PVP) is led by social service volunteer Gilbert Goh. PVP’s leader is Lim Tean, one of the most popular opposition candidates in this election.
The PAP team is led by Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean, who has a bad reputation among Pasir Ris and Punggol residents for being arrogant. The other PAP member is Minister Janil Puthucheary, an ex-Malaysian who never served National Service. The other 3 PAP members are newbies who were assembled from different government agencies or government-linked companies.
