Candidates’ masks must remain on while speaking to the public, ruled the Ministry of Health and the Elections Department.
But the rule does not apply to PAP ministers apparently.
Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat yesterday took down his mask when he spoke to media reporters. Minister Iswaran and PAP MP Foo Mee Har who were also present, were wearing their masks.
Both the Election Department and Ministry of Health turned a blind eye to the minister’s actions, despite having issued numerous fines to residents, and for some charging them in court or revoking their work passes, for breaking COVID measures.
The Prime Minister successor was responding to media queries on PAP candidate Ivan Lim, who is gaining notoriety for his arrogant behaviour witnessed by his ex-colleagues and former NS mates.
Minister Heng Swee Keat said Ivan Lim should defend himself. The new PAP candidate is currently dodging the media and refusing to speak up.
