Some of the dormitories in a list provided by the Ministry of Manpower, deemed “cleared of COVID infections”, are again reporting new cases.
According to an updated listed yesterday, 8 new cases were linked to Kian Teck Dormitory, 26 Kian Teck Avenue. The Ministry of Manpower however listed this address as “cleared” and “all conditions met” – meaning foreign workers from the infected cluster has resumed working in the construction sites.
The Ministry of Manpower yesterday updated that only 79,000 foreign workers have been cleared of infection. This is less than 25% of the 323,000 foreign workers in Singapore.
Manpower Minister Josephine Teo is unable to provide a schedule when will all the foreign workers be tested. The government refused to admit that they are short of testing kits, and neither are they disclosing the number of new tests done each day.
Singapore is still reporting hundreds of new cases each day, with total infections now at 42,432 confirmed.
