SDA Desmond Lim with his puppet sinpo

Army general Minister Ng Chee Meng just heaped a huge relief, when he heard that the weakest opposition party is again contesting in his Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC.

“Please ban SDA from contesting. We don’t want the PAP, but we don’t want SDA more.”, pleaded a Pasir Ris resident.

Despite contesting the GRC four times since 2001, the SDA headed by Desmond Lim has never won the constituency – not even close. Clearly rejected by residents every election, the opposition spoiler contested each time to “reserve” the GRC from other opposition participation, directly protecting the PAP incumbent.

Unpopular is an understatement, residents in Pasir Ris and Punggol thinks Desmond Lim is a joke when he campaigned alongside his puppet mascot “Sinpo” during the elections. The deliberate spoiler after all successfully kept PAP in power for the past 20 years.

Yesterday, Desmond Lim told the state media Straits Times he is contesting the Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC again.

This means PAP will be guaranteed 6 seats in Parliament again, with army general Ng Chee Meng getting a free ticket.

Unfortunately, none of the other opposition parties have expressed interest in Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC. Singaporeans living in the two of the most populous areas will have to choose an inferior opposition who can’t speak English, or the incumbents who keep dishing out promises of estate upgrading.

Despite the estate upgrading meaning nothing to property value due to a depreciating 99 year lease, the negativity towards Desmond Lim surpassed any towards the ruling party dictatorship.

I do not agree with three-corner fights most of the time, but this is one exception I will let slide. Please kick this sorry excuse of an opposition out of sight.

If you think Kenneth Jeyaretnam and Goh Meng Seng is bad, go look up Desmond Lim. Based on their credentials and track record, these three are the ones I guarantee will never be elected.
