Trade Minister Chan Chun Sing today announced that all standalone drinks shops – except those in food courts and hawker centres – will have to shut down. Singaporeans’ favourite bubble tea shops will be affected by the new change.
The former army general PAP minister also mandated that everyone who enters supermarkets must leave their particulars before entry. This move is expected to create long queues and trigger another wave of stockpiling due to greater inconvenience.
Minister Chan Chun Sing also exclude hair cut as essential, and ordered the shut down of all hairdressing and barber shops.
All changes will effect immediately without warning or lead time.
The moves came after Singapore reported 1,111 new cases today, bringing the total to 9,125.
