It has been exactly 7 days since the announcement of the “circuit breakers”, but the figures kept rising.

Australia and New Zealand both saw significant decline in their lockdown measures within the first week, but Singapore’s outbreak worsened instead.

Out of desperation, the Singapore ministers imposed new piecemeal regulations each day out from their Facebook page. Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan started banning commuters from boarding a train without a face mask, and the monkeys followed suit.

Environment Minister Masagos Zulkifli warned that he has instructed enforcement officers to fine anyone S$300 on the spot with no warning. Minister of Trade Chan Chun Sing also put up his banana law warning that everyone must wear a mask inside supermarkets, stores and malls.
