Refusing to accept responsibility over the record increase in infection, National Development Minister Lawrence Wong said he does not know the coronavirus outbreak is this serious:
“Unfortunately, we do not have the luxury of the benefit of hindsight. The virus is moving so quickly. If I’d known, I would have done things differently. But no one can tell the next step. Previously, there have been cases in foreign worker dormitories. However, they never exploded into big clusters. But this time it happened.”
The PAP millionaire minister blamed the infected for the widespread community infection:
“A single lapse by an individual who continues to go to work, and interact with others, can easily end up spreading the virus to many others.”
The total number of confirmed cases jumped to 1,910, increasing by 90% after crossing the 1,000th mark ten days ago on the first of April.
