Singapore’s daily increase hit a new high with 75 confirmed cases reported yesterday, bringing the total to 1,189. Foreign workers form the bulk of the new cases at 32, on top of the existing 96. 3 new clusters were also reported, including a new foreign worker dormitory in Toh Guan.
A new death was also reported, the 6th, being an 88-year-old Singaporean from the Singapore Cricket Club cluster. More are now in ICU, with 26 suffering severe pneumonia and requiring oxygen respirators.
Singapore hospitals are also seeing staffs being infected, with one case each at KK Hospital, NCID, Sengkang General Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Only 6 out of the 75 new cases are imported, while 29 cases are infected from unknown sources. The number of unknown infections have tripled since a week ago, and the group has exceeded imported cases.
