Former army general Gan Siow Huang

Singapore’s ruling party dictatorship has fielded another army general to contest in the coming General Election. Former Air Force’s Chief of Staff, Gan Siow Huang, will be running in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC after she was featured like a maid tagging along Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen.

The 45 year old woman with a manly silhouette who lacks physical appeal for a politician dare not speak to state media reporters, and instead directed her answers to Minister Chee Hong Tat who was at the walkabout.

As Gan Siow Huang has never been to Bishan before, she was forced to attend the PAP walkabout to “understand the ground”. She has no experience working in a private sector or managing any organisation.

The Opposition party contesting in Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC will be Dr Tan Cheng Bock’s Progress Singapore Party (PSP). Dr Tan Cheng Bock will be named as the de facto Opposition after SPP lost the constituency twice in 2011 and 2015.
