Manpower Minister Josephine Teo gave an update to businesses on Facebook revealing that she is approving 200 China workers to enter Singapore each day.

The PAP millionaire minister said all applications that adhere by government’s minimum requirements – 14 days Leave of Absence (LOA) and a dormitory for self-quarantine – will be approved.

Minister Josephine Teo said she can refer hotels and dormitories to the employers and even dangled a S$100 a day incentive for each China worker who enter Singapore and serve the 14 days LOA:

“During this period, my colleagues and I will try our best to address the concerns of employers and workers. For example, we will help them link up with hotel or dorm operators where the LOA can be served out. We have also announced the $100 daily support for employers whose employees are on LOA.”

The minister had on Feb 2 said that a total of 30,000 China nationals on work permit have not returned. There is no update how many have arrived since then.

Each foreign worker pays S$700 in levies to the government, and the Singapore government is trying to pocket the profits, risking public health with the Wuhan virus infection – which they termed as “milder than SARS”.
