PAP MP Lee Bee Wah embarrassed herself in Parliament yesterday (Mar 1) with a story she cooked up to attack Workers’ Party Pritam Singh’s suggestion to seek alternative funding for a GST increase.
The ex-Malaysian spoke in Malaysian Chinese accent saying that she wanted to share a story. The story goes of a mother asking her husband for more allowance to pay for the family expenses. The father then went to buy the lottery and won the first prize, to which his wife said that their expenses is long term and that such a windfall does not happen all the time.
PAP MP Lee Bee Wah then accused WP MP Pritam Singh of splurging money, and wasting his grandfather’s money.
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong appeared at the end of the video seemingly amused and impressed by his PAP MP’s calibre.
