In contrast to the fake news published by 154th state media, Halimah Yacob’s residence in a HDB flat have created massive inconvenience for residents. According to Yishun residents living in the same block as President-select Halimah Yacob, the additional security measures taken up at the apartment created traffic jam due to security clearance. Facilities for the residents have to make way for the government’s newly-adopted fat cat. Two car park lots- one handicapped – were reserved for police vehicles and new security cameras were set up at the corridors, staircases and void deck.

Residents are also unable to enjoy the peace and quiet the estate used to have as visitors would crowd around the area taking pictures. One resident who live in the same floor as Halimah Yacob complained that some visitors tried to peek into her home to see what a 5-room configuration look like. Some residents also noted that with Halimah Yacob around, the estate is now cleaner as compared to the negligent state it was prior to her presidency.

According to a resident who declined to be named fearing government persecutions, nobody is supposed to take the same lift as Halimah Yacob and the lifts will have to be cleared each time she takes the lift.

It is unknown how much additional funding is required to upkeep security but an estimation is about S$1 million-a-year for additional manpower and equipment.

Halimah Yacob lives in a jumbo unit comprising of a five-room and four-room flat, but she insisted on living in the HDB unit to score political points with Singaporeans. The Lee Hsien Loong-appointed President won her election by disqualifying her two other opponent contestants. The puppet president takes S$1.54 million-a-year to allow dictator Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have free access to the country’s national reserves and CPF retirement fund.
