The Singapore ruling party thrives on falsehoods and propaganda half-truth propagated by the state-controlled media. With the ignorance of the masses, the ruling party government is able to introduce undemocratic laws and even new laws like the recent changes to the Presidential election that contravene the country’s constitution.

Media censorship is crucial to maintaining a level of ignorance among the public to keep politics “stable”. The Singapore government also set aside an undisclosed budget every year on online propaganda smearing government critics with an internet brigade, similar that of China’s “50-cent army”.
