A 3-hour-long train breakdown occurred during the morning peak hour yesterday (Oct 27) helped SMRT achieved its 4th disruption in two weeks.

At around 8.43am yesterday, SMRT announced on Twitter than there was no train service between Pasir Ris and Bugis train station on the East-West Line.

With multiple announcements, passengers were repeatedly told to add 10 mins to travelling time, however the breakdown ended only 3 hours later at 11.45am. This is the 4th major breakdown in a single week.

On Tuesday (Oct 25), SMRT covered up a 40-min-long train breakdown incident that hit Clementi and Jurong East station, also on the East-West Line.

Also during the peak hour morning of Saturday (Oct 22), a stalled train at Dover station caused major disruption between Queenstown station and Jurong East.

On the evening of last Tuesday (Oct 18), a train fault hit stations between Tanah Merah and Bugis.

All four incidents happened on the East-West Line.

There is zero response on all the incidents from the Land Transport Authority and Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan.
