In a state media interview over Singapore’s relationship with the United States, Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Vivian Balakrishnan poured praises for the country’s dictator Lee Hsien Loong likening him to US President Barrack Obama. Minister Vivian did not held back on his praises for Lee Hsien Loong, calling him “cerebral, articulate and a deep thinker.
Minister Vivian also said that the Singapore Prime Minister has an intellectual level similar that of President Obama:
“Channel NewsAsia: And on a personal basis, President Obama and Prime Minister Lee have a very good rapport?
Minister Vivian Balakrishnan: Yes! They do, they do. Both of them are cerebral, articulate and deep thinkers. And their approach to the world is by studying things carefully, not being overreactive, and at the same time taking a strategic perspective. So at an intellectual, philosophical level they get along very well. ”
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is a Singapore dictator who became Prime Minister because of his father, Lee Kuan Yew, the former dictator. PM Lee is also the Chairman of the country’s sovereign wealth fund company, GIC, while his wife is CEO of the other sovereign wealth fund company, Temasek Holdings. The two companies reported a total loss of more than S$40 billion in their latest financial report.
PM Lee Hsien Loong do not comment on negative news that embarrass himself or his government. He has stayed silent on various scandals like the failure to extradite the Canadian robber who made Singapore’s first successful bank robbery attempt, the return of the China-made MRT trains, AGO financial report and losses of national funds in GIC and Temasek Holdings.
