An unknown caucasian man successfully pulled off a bank robbery at the Holland Village branch of Standard Chartered bank in broad daylight around 11.25am today (July 7). According to the media, the man took off with S$30,000 in cash but the police is unable to find or identify him. The only information is that the robber was wearing a grey hoodie and mustard pants.

There is no information from the Singapore Police as of press time, and neither was a photo or screenshot of the bank’s cctv image provided. There is no detail behind the robbery released by the police, and the Singapore government-controlled media did not interview anyone involved in the robbery and the spokesperson for Standard Chartered bank only said that the branch will be closed for police investigation.

This is Singapore’s first successful bank robbery in decades. It is understood the Singapore government-controlled media is revealing as little information as possible so not to embarrass the Singapore government.
