An unidentified Mercedes Benz driver beat the red light and killed a 21-year-old Malay lady around 8.30pm on Tuesday (June 7). The incident happened at the traffic junction between Jurong West Ave 1 and Jurong West St 41.
According to eyewitnesses, the 41-year-old driver beat the red light and swerved into the centre road divider to avoid crashing into a crowd. Unfortunately, private college student Siti Nurfadariiyah Rosdi reacted by running to the centre road divider to avoid the car and was hit. The impact sent her flying to the other side of the road and she landed head first.
