Singapore’s government-controlled media Channel News Asia will be featuring a Lee Kuan Yew tribute video using children as young as 11 years old to pour praises and thanks for the deceased dictator.

In the propaganda video, Lee Kuan Yew was praised as “determined” and “someone who changed the world”. The video is a part of the multi-million dollar effort to spruce up a mourning period for the dictator’s death anniversary next week (Mar 23).

Singapore’s media is currently ranked 153rd in the world for press freedom and independence. Setting up an alternative media in Singapore will require a S$50,000 bond and a registration contract that requires the owner to abide by censorship laws.
