A resident living at Whampoa Drive Blk 82 made a complaint to the Chinese papers when she received a letter with Chinese hell notes in her mail box during the Chinese New Year period. The letter, sent on Feb 11, demanding that the neighbour get the debtor to call the loanshark back within 3 days or he will splash paint at her door.

The content of the letter is reproduced as follow:

“YOUR NEIGHBOUR

OWE ME OUTSTANDING DEBT. YOU BETTER ASK HIM/HER TO GIVE ME A CALL BACK TO SETTLE THE MONEY WITHIN 3 DAYS !! DON’T GET YOURSELF INTO UNNECESSARY TROUBLE !! BY 3DAYS IF I DON’T GET A CALL BACK, I WILL LOCK YOUR DOOR AND THROW PAINT !! CALL ME NOW AND PAY BACK MY MONEY…
MY ACC, XXXXXXX

Several residents have received similar intimidation letters and have made multiple police reports. However, the police appears helpless on the case despite having the bank account number and even contact number on the letter.
