PAP MP Tin Pei Ling’s joy is short-lived. The National Solidarity Party today (August 23) will not be contesting in Macpherson SMC and even fielding Steve Chia in the coming General Election (GE). On his Facebook page, Steve Chia posted “The Trolls have won” and announced that he will not contest in the coming GE.
States Times Review is one of those “trolls” who was vehemently against NSP Steve Chia’s decision to contest in a three-corner fight with the Workers’ Party, who obviously have a higher chance of winning Macpherson SMC given that PAP MP Tin Pei Ling is the weakest link of all.
PAP MP Tin Pei Ling single-handedly pulled down Marine Parade GRC’s election result by more than 20% in the last General election. This time round, her constituency has been abandoned from the former Prime Minister’s ward and left to be a Single Member Constituency (SMC). The Workers’ Party looks set to win this low-lying fruit seat easily and speculations are rife that PAP MP Tin Pei Ling will be the first PAP MP to lose her electoral deposit.
