A 17 year old lady was arrested on Friday (July 17) for allegedly stealing from her employer supermarket while she was working the night shift. According to a CCTV footage, the night shift worker of the 24-hour supermarket would give her friends cigarettes for free whenever they drop by the shop.
The supermarket owner, Mr Tan, also said he found shortfalls in the earnings in mere few days after she started work. Based in Sembawang Drive, Fortune Supermarket even posted up a “wanted” photo of the lady after she went missing from work.
The Singapore Police seized S$300 in cash, 72 lucky draw vouchers, four packets of cigarettes and two bags when the 17 year old was arrested. She will be charged in court tomorrow (July 20) for criminal breach of trust and faces a maximum jail term of 15 years.
