Three Burmese were charged in court yesterday (June 24) for conspiring to murder a 28 year old Burmese at the multi-storey carpark at Block 747A Pasir Ris Street 71.

Myanmar nationals Yaw Wynnt Oaung, 32, Phyo Min Naing, 31 and Singapore Permanent Resident Zaw Min Hlaing, 37 were arrested separately in Balestier Road and a chalet in Aloha Changi on Tuesday (June 22). The three of them along with an escaped 29 year old suspect Kyaw Kyaw Aung, alias Aung Aung, attempted to murder a 26 year old Burmese national who is also a Singapore PR, Aye Maung Maung Thet on Sunday (June 21). The 29 year old suspect Aung Aung left Singapore the very next day after the botched murder attempt. The first suspect, a Singapore PR, Zaw Min Hlaing was arrested in Balestier Road and the remaining two were arrested at a Changi chalet with equipment like hack saw, meat grinder, butcher knives and empty suicases believed to be prepared for the disposal of a body.

If found guilty, the trio face jail term up to 14 years. A police warrant has been placed on the escaped fugitive Aung Aung.
