According to a STR reader, the Community Centres (CCs) managed by the People’s Association (PA) are now profiting from Malay weddings held at their facilities. A wedding planner Mohammad Yazid wrote in a Facebook post that the CCs charge on a breakdown basis, with air con bill coming to S$100 an hour and disallowing organizers to arrange dish washing unlike in the past. The total bill for a 2-day wedding charged by the CC is at a minimal of S$7,000. Do you think the government statutory board like the PA should profit from Singaporeans?
