Fibre broadband and home phone line services of the three major internet service providers, Singtel, Starhub and M1, are partially disrupted due to damaged cabling infrastructure caused by LTA contractors.
The services for Singtel, Starhub and M1 customers in Bukit Merah, Outram, Tanjong Pagar and Tiong Bahru were disrupted this morning (Jun 11) at 10.40am. According to the Land Transport Authority (LTA), their contractors working on a MRT construction site at Great World City for the new Thomas-East Coast Line damaged the fibre conduit infrastructure during piling work. LTA however did not specify the extent of the damage.
NetLink Trust said they are working on recovery works and services are progressively restored. On its Facebook post update at 6.15pm, Singtel said that the services will be resotred by 12 midnight tonight.
It remains to be seen if LTA will be fined for the service disruptions caused.
