The fines for posting unsolicited advertisement papers on walls and poles at public properties will increase from S$400 to S$500, according to the Land Transport Authority (LTA) today.

The LTA said they are putting an effort to eliminate the unsightly advertisements in recent years and even bought a “special” anti-stick paint on 16,900 public properties over 600 locations to deter unsolicited poster ads. It is unknown how much have the LTA spent on these “special” paint and how effective it was as LTA did not release statistics before and after the implementation.
