Barely a day after the news of public slashing incident broke out in Singapore, Law and Home Affairs K Shanmugam came out from his hole pouring praises for himself and the police. The second-in-command dictator who often threaten Singaporeans in legal suits disregarded that the fact that a serious attack has occurred under broad daylight in Singapore streets.

The millionaire PAP Minister who takes home more than S$1.1 million-a-year issued his rosy-tinted hindsight on Facebook and conveniently left out an explanation where were the Singapore police at the time of the incident:

“Serangoon attack – Excellent work by Police. There was a horrific attack, on Serangoon Road. In broad daylight, in public. Men attacking with knife, sword. Police arrested suspects within 18 hours. Really good work by the Police to have found the suspects so quickly. The lesson is : in Singapore, the police will find the suspects , and find them quickly.”

The suspects were easily found as the victim knew his attackers.

Only July 25, five Indian-ethic men, with their nationalities covered up by the state media, slashed a 27-year-old man with a samurai sword and a kitchen knife at Serangoon Road in Little India. The assailants were arrested a day after the police acted on the victim’s tip-off.

Law Minister K Shanmugam however took the limelight and chipped in, as if he did the arrest by himself. The Law Minister’s self-proclaimed judicial expertise was painfully missed by the public over the High Speed Rail contract breakdown.
