The northern regions of Singapore was hit with a storm last evening (Jan 30), which saw flooding and a rare raining of hailstones in some areas. Pellet-sized hailstones were found dropping in Seletar and Ang Mo Kio, with videos of the hailstone rain in Seletar West Link, Seletar expressway (SLE) and Ngee Ann Polytechnic uploaded on Facebook.
Also in Seletar, there were severe flooding with water height at knee-level or around 50cm. Commuters also saw numerous fallen trees, bent signage and broken barriers at Seletar West Link and Tampines expressway (TPE).

At the residential precinct of Yishun, a 4m-long tree uprooted and fell at the road right next to Yishun Secondary School.
In Chong Pang, a large tree branch fell and hit a festival market pasar malam food tent. Some stall owners also reported that the wind was so strong that their merchandise were blown away. Some shops also saw their retractable awnings broken by the storm.
