A 35 year old man has been arrested for extorting money after throwing himself on a moving car. The incident happened today (June 11) at around 3.39pm, at Pasir Ris Farmway 2.
The ubiquitous extortion method in China is rarely seen in Singapore.
According to car owner Terry Loo, the man then punched and kicked his car violently after throwing himself on the bonnet of the car. When Terry Loo got off the car, the man said in Chinese that he want compensation and held up three fingers, signalling S$300 as compensation.
The police was called in and the man was arrested. The nationality of the man who staged the accident is covered up by state media Straits Times. State media Straits Times claimed that the man was “drunk”.
