Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam published a lengthy note barking at the Opposition Workers’ Party, insinuating them of corruption. Minister K Shanmugam was referring to the latest published financial practice report that revealed up to 185 lapses with the Opposition Aljunied-Hougang Town Council.
The independent auditors from accounting firm KPMG said that the Opposition town council will need at least 18 months to fix the lapses founded. Despite the damning report, the Opposition town council was also cleared of criminal charges and corruption.
However, Law Minister K Shanmugam bite onto the report and declared “the rot is at the top”, accusing the Workers Party Members of Parliament of corruption. In his Facebook post here, Minister K Shanmugam went on to defame the Opposition saying that they are cheating residents of their money:
“Obviously, WP’s leadership thought they could play Aljunied residents – and Singaporeans — for dummies.”
Law Minister K Shanmugam also ranted about the WP’s response:
“The attitude of AHTC in dealing with its severe problems is quite telling. In response to KPMG’s report, Mr Pritam Singh breezily says: “AHTC accepts all the recommendations in full”.
That’s it. He seems to think that suffices. No need for apologies, explanations, clarifications.”
The politician has recently came out of his hole after he refused to comment on the embarrassing robbery in Holland Village. Minister K Shanmugam is also not commenting why is the robber who is now in the Thai police custody, not extradited back to Singapore.
