Minister Lim Swee Say boasted on his Facebook page that he has personally conducted 100 sessions on MediShield Life and Pioneer Generation Package to his residents in East Coast GRC:
“Interest in MediShield Life and Pioneer Generation Package remains strong. I am doing my best to help explain the WHY, HOW and WHAT of the schemes to as many residents as possible.
I have personally conducted about 100 sessions so far. My sincere thanks to our grassroots leaders and volunteers for their hard work in organizing so many events.
More heads, more hands, more hearts.”
The main reason behind why Minister Lim Swee Say have to conduct 100 similar sessions personally is because the MediShield Life and Pioneer Generation Package are lacking in details and valid rationale supporting the two policies. One such example for the MediShield Life is the obscurity behind the premium breakdown and its funding structure. The Pioneer Generation Package is facing a flood of appeals from those who missed the cut-off age of 65 on 2014, especially elderly in their 50s and 60s who are facing piling medical bills.
